Quick one - fuel cap rubber lead broken...

Featured Replies

the rubber lead on the fuel cap is broken, trying to find a replacement. Does anyone know what good words to search for? lol

Mine too, I pulled it off after it snapped a year and a bit ago.

But it still 'clips on' to the top of the flap when filling

using the little 'teeth' so I never bothered replacing the strap thingy.

I expect Skoda supply them. I guess the diesel rots the rubber.

Should have nicked the one off the SDI before I PX'd it.

It looks like you have to buy a new cap with the retaining strap if you go to Skoda/VAG. Here's all the relevant stuff from vagcat.com:

If you look very closely you can push out the two plastic pins using a needle from the cap which holds in the rubber strap. Then you can replace just the strap.

You can't buy the strap seperate though.

Just buy a new cap, as above comes with new strap, mine broke on my Octavia at 4 years old, mind you a remapped petrol gets a lot of fills a the petrol station :giggle:
