Absolutely, i pick up the paint on Monday, so they will be painted in a lock up on Monday night, be left there for 2 days under direct halogen heat, then brought home for another 4 days in a heated room to harden and cure. So if i plan for that likely ill end up fitting them next Saturday

Don't suppose your the Lofty that used to frequent the Vec-C forum are you?

so the saying goes

"this little piggy went to perth"

"this little piggy got a vrs bumper"

"this little piggy got a spoiler"

"and this little piggy went wee wee wee all they way home to spray primer"

is That why you showed us your toes ?

  • Author

Where'd ya get the paint from? Is this a rattlecan jobby or...?

  • Author

Yup rattlers. But the company I used have new nozzles that allow use of proper paints, and propells a really even wide pattern so its dead easy to make it even and smooth. One can did both bumper and spoiler. Laquer was a two part hardened mix in same can setup again was like working with compressor more than a can. Great finish, better than a rattle can would ever look usually. Plus using proper paint it'll last. Got it from gils 18 quid a can for colour, 7 a can for laquer mix. and its gone proper hard and tough.

I hope you used a seriously good mask with that stuff.

I'm a firm believer that epoxy paints should not be on general sale to the public. That stuff is nasty, and should only be used in a controlled environment, with an AIR-FED mask.

I sprayed it in a heated lock up, and used a mask, but yes i did notice that i still felt bad. One thing i thought was strange as apposed to normal paint is my eyes were sore when the blow air heater pushed fumes my way (when drying not spraying) it got around the goggles.

But i am fine today and the finished product looks much much better than i had hoped. I thought there was no overspray, but when going back today the floor was slightly silver, so a very mobile paint with a very wide reach. Obviously why the finished product is so even
