They were no longer supplied in the 2011 model year i think - my May 2010 has one!

Al.

As has my 2013 model.

If you are that concerned about having one you can order from accessories.

You really can't expect a dealer to supply umbrella on a 3 year old car can you?

my MY11 was supplied with one. Still in it's plastic wrapper as well.

My 62 plate SE has got one. It's a lovely touch and I'm surprised at how much I've used it. As was mentioned earlier, it's still in the accessories brochure.

My 09 plate one was missing as well :( just searched Internet for a while and eventually picked up an original skoda one for £10 from a main dealer selling on eBay :) keep an eye out and you will find a bargain eventually.

It was indeed dropped mid 2010 but reintroduced again a year later.

Make sure you get one for a MKII Superb though as the MKI umbrella is longer and will not fit inside the door!!

My 2008 didn't have one. So I bought one. Never been out of it's door pocket ever since, I don't even ever use an umbrella!!!

My April 2012 has one as well. Sounds like he does not want to buy one.

thank you all for your posts

it is not the umbrella itself but the principle that counts here.

the dealer lied to me in saying there were dropped in 2009, all he had to say was that the car did not have one when they took it in

so I will make a phone call to refresh his memory then

My 2011 has one. But it was dropped in some models in some years here in Denmark. Don´t see why.

My 61 plate has one and I can believe just how little I've used it!

IMO great in theory but for me will never get used.

A bit of an assumption there that they lied. Given that all Superbs didn't ship with them, they could have been mistaken. Equally they might not have been, but it's a bit of a conclusion to jump to.

for stevehg

I rang Skoda customer services this morning and they confirmed that the car should come with the umbrella even if it's 3 year old (the car has to be supplied with the original standard specifications)

Dealer then backed down and said that "maybe" the car did not come with an umbrella and he will investigate (his voice was racing and he seemed very anxious talking to me)

you said that "Given that all Superbs didn't ship with them"...that is not the point

the car maybe did not have it originally as the lease company (first owner) did not care to check

the point is that he assured me they were discontinued for that period which is untrue so a lie or even worse an insufficiently trained member of staff

if you dispute this point then I give up and I understand why some dealerships think they can get away with anything.

thank you

For nick2, chill out, its not my fault they screwed up

I didn't dispute any point, just stated a fact.

Hopefully, nothing goes wrong with the car, if you get this worked up over an umbrella, you're going to have a cardiac

Cheers Steve ;)
