The wife's car just doesn't seem to have the grunt it did when's few years ago, it's AMD remapped too. Still not slow but the difference between her car and my Octavia is really apparent.

Aside from the obvious small boost leak, what else can cause this on a VRS? Car has done 84,000 miles btw.

MAF sensor?

EGR valve ?

Don't know - how might you know they aren't 100% without changing?

Unplug Maf, see if improves. If does when its unplugged, probably needs changed

Give it a good thrash n clean it out with a bit of V Power, works for mine.
