People still use those for TV then? Blimey! :|

Freeview is great for those times that the weather takes down Sky, which in my neck of the woods, is often.

Went cable 12 years ago, not looked back. Watch TV when the weather's bad, no problem. :)

Great! I flatly refuse to have sky, cable isn't avaialble where I live (not that I see why I should be forced down that route in order to get a good signal), I already have a mast head amplifier and one where the coax comes in to the house so as we can get a decent freeview signal.

Looks like I'll be looking at freesat, more expense!

Freesat's great; The Waltons at 11am, Cheers double bill at 6pm, Star Trek TOS, and er, well that's about it really :wonder:

What, I can't get feeview channels through freesat? :(

I still use Freeview upstairs since I can't afford an extra Virgin box. Works perfectly for BBC HD most of the time. All the channels disappeared a few weeks ago for a few hours then reappeared.

When we had the Tivo-thingy put in, Virgin put the old TV-Drive one in another room, on the same package for a fiver a month.

Well if they block my signal it is going to cost them a fair bit to replace all of mine with ones with built in FreeSat receivers, as well as two PVRs (one is YouView).

I got a cheap Freesat box and a dish ( in the hope that some of the SWIMBO's favourite programs would be available). No real advantage, except that I used the old VCR to link to TV, meaning we can record two programes and watch another. Have done some searching and found a few more programes ,but their either Phone in for a chat type or from some foreign station.
