Alarm immobiliser - Thatcham category ?

Featured Replies

Its insurance renewal time. Does anyone know what the Thatcham Category is for the latest Superb ?

15 minutes of reading the manual hasn't given me the answer

Looking at it though, I'm not sure how well Skoda have kept it up to date. According to it Superb is running same alarm system as Superb mk1. Very unlikely.

Thanks, I did see that, and assumed it was referring to the previous model Superb, hence the question.

Simples- phone Skoda- I did and I found that most of the insurance companies couldn't care less

I noticed when using online quotes it does seem to make up to a £40 difference depending on the insurer if it was Cat 2 rather than Cat 1.

I think that Cat 2 is just an immobiliser and Cat 1 is an alarm with an immobiliser.

Exactly what I thought.

Go to thatchams own website and you can see the classification for the Superb II 09- broken down into each model.
