Tyre Pressures

Featured Replies

I have just changed my standard comfort wheels to 16" vRS Alloys with Michelin Pilot Premicy Tyres.....

My petrol cap doesnt show tyre pressures for 16"..... what would they be on a Fabia Comfort 1.2 with vRS Alloys??

i think i run 34/32-33

On mine I run 28s at the rears and about 36-7s at the fronts for std vrs tyres.

With the similiar net weight give or take 100kg due to heavier weight of the TDI. I wouldn't expect to make much difference, unless someone expects differently.

I run 2.4/2.2 bar i think. That is nowhere near 37psi though. That seems very high. Does it drive ok ?

Crickey 37psi on the fronts, how the traction?

I run 32psi fronts, 30psi rear's

cheers guys

That's illegally wide of the mark

Should be 33 front/ 32 rear shouldn't it?

Just confirmed, im running 29s at the back and 36s at the front.

Yes shortfall of the recommended psi, just did some conversion on the internet, it should be 30s at the back and 33s at the front. God knows why it was that different.

Drives ok, nothing wrong. Grips fine (unless its the car's nature to grip well :P), also no wonder my fuel economy has been great then

Will rectify this pressure problem ASAP.

We are talking about 16" wheels here - you need to use a better conversion program. :)

The Skoda recommendation for a Fabia vRS is:

Front - 230/2.3 - full load increase to 250/2.5

Rear - 220/2.2 - full load increase to 280/2.8

- but the backs only need to be 210/2.1 if running on 15" wheels - which is where Mikey might be confused?

Using http://www.projects.ex.ac.uk/trol/scol/ccpress.htm this equates to

Front - 33.4 - full load increase to 36.3

Rear - 31.9 (30.5 for 15") - full load increase to 40.6

Hence in theory the spare should be pressurised up to 41 in case it's needed unless like me you carry a tyre compressor.

Many thanks.... will pump them up now!
