Black bonnet....

Featured Replies

My carbon bonnet's paintwork is starting to go off, especially around the grille, so I am contemplating either painting black, or just wrapping black. I am looking into the latter on saturday. Already have a black roof, but could a black bonnet and grille be too much? I was even thinking about doing it so it was black from the leading corners, across to the top edge of the grille, then a black grille....

Something like this, but will obviously be a black aimed to match my roof.

Hmmm... MS Paint skillz ;)

If you do it wrap, you can surely peel it off if it looks crap anyway?

I'd say go for it, it's not going to cost the earth

Jason do you always park on double yellows?? Lol!

You could try pasticoat spray paint that peels off if you don't like it which is a easy DIY job.

Could be abit over the top with blackness.

I'd do the whole bonnet or none of it personally.

Can't you strip it of paint and lacquer the carbon?

I once thought about doin this but silver on my black one

All black or it'll look odd. IMO.

whole black will look cool, if not leave as it is :nerd:

thought about clear lacquer? everybody loves a bit of carbon...

I think the idea of wrapping it might be best - or try and get a cheap second hand bonnet.

i saw a race blue se once and the bump/ bulge in the middle of the bonnet was all black looks really effective the edges were still race blue

OK, all black I agree is going to look best, and is easiest too really, when it comes to wrapping.

Bonnet is already primed and painted/lacquered, so if I were going to wrap, I would probably sand it right down myself first. I'd rather not get down to the bare carbon though. I suspect its not going to look pretty anyway. Just down to primer I think.

Where did you get the carbon bonnet?

Pretty sure it's some super rare thing made in the Czech?

Keep it silver IMO!

Saying that, there's a fair amount of CF makers now, probably can be had I would've thought between 400-600 in the uk.
