Non water coolant

Featured Replies

A recent episode of wheelers dealers saw Ed China using non-water based engine coolant. Looks like good stuff. -40 to +180 degrees. No water so no rust and no pressure build up due to no water ! Fill and forget. Anyone on here used the stuff ?

No, but it looks interesting.

10% gain in fuel economy is a quite significant claim and looks too good to be true.

Would be interesting to hear from anyone who has / is using it.

Wonder what VAG would make of it given their proprietary coolant is the only one they recognise?

The statement "as long as it doesn't get contaminated with water" worries me a little as unless your putting it in a car thats just been built your never going to be able to totally drain the cooling system of water/coolent

Evans have a hydroscopic flush that you use before filling with the coolant that removes all existing water based coolant.

You must understand your OAT & HOAT & never ever mix the 2.

Understand what is required, & with you Skoda if it is G12 + thats required, be sure what you are changing to.

Never buy, by colour.

So many import vehicles, 4x4's etc in the UK end up with Heads, Head Gaskets and seals going because once in the UK the new owner just goes and tops up here with any old Anti Freeze or water.

*It is nice if people leave a big sticker saying what the have used or replaced the recommended coolant with*
