Unfortunately u will have to order the key + get it coded via a skoda dealer.. + it wont be "cheap"..

U can get keys cut cheap if u just need to get into your car (if uv locked ur keys in etc)

I did this to my old ibiza n got a key cut for £10 lol.. only opens the door tho so i didnt have to break into my car

I've looked into this recently and got a shock!

I know that Skoda will charge a fair wack for new key, cut & code, but went to a local key cutting place as they were advertising that they can code the keys... they wanted £120 to programme one of their keys, wouldn't do it for a key i bought though.

There's a guy on "that" auction site who sells the vw/skoda 3 button fobs. We've exchanged a few emails about it and was quoted about £65/70 for new key, cutting and programming.

Sounds better value than Skoda and the key cutting place.... anyone else got a better quote or price paid?!?!?

well try here mate.. http://carkeyadvice.com/united-kingdom-car-key-specialist-index see if you can find the closest autolocksmith to you.. i found that recently, when i was looking for an alternative to the dealer since i got quoted £250 for a remote spare, i needed one because i have only one key to my car and i'm afraid something can happen to my only key .. i've been reading a lot of discussions on different forums and seems like getting a replacement key is really expensive now a days. .. they got locksmith all over the British isle.. hope it can help!

Try a local locksmith. Got this tip from AA man one time. Seems the locksmiths have woken up to the amounts the stealers charge and have decided it's a good market to get into .Charge a lot less ,but still make a tidy profit. Everybodies happy .

Perhaps just get a standard key cut as a spare. Do you need 2 keys? If you loose the remote key would i be right in thinking the dealer can cut you a new one if you show them the VIN?

Cheapest is possibly to buy the key, get it cut and paired to your alarm... Then find a specialist to code it to your immobiliser.

I had this issue with the Fabia I bought last month.

As it's the basic Classic model I was paranoid about shutting my keys in the boot.

Timpsons wanted £95, with Dealer wanting £130.

Found http://www.carkeyhelp.co.uk - Replacement Transponder key with key code (didn't have that either) all in for £21.35.

If you look up the HU66T key the picture is nothing like the key I received - other than the word SKODA being a slightly different font it looks and feels like an original key.

Ordered on Saturday afternoon - delivered by post on Tuesday morning. Probably been quicker if I hadn't ordered if after post office closed on Saturday.

Works fine on all doors, does turn the ignition barrel, but key code lights up on dash, so not programmed in.

Friend of mine owns a car tuning company, asked if he can program in keys for a Skoda. He said as long as I have the key code it's straight forward, £30 tops.

So a key all done for just over £50

Key code didn't work - unfortunately carkeyhelp not being much help in sorting out the issue.

Does anyone know the most cost effective way of getting just the key code ??

Call your local mobile auto locksmith/security person, they'll usually do mileage correction, key coding and SKC retrieval. If not then at worst the existing key can be cloned.
