EDL & Xennons

Featured Replies

Can they be fitted after manufacture and is so are they a silly price.

Crucial factor in new or used.

Cheers

EDL (electronic differential lock) is part of the ASR traction control system and comes as standard on models with it. Xenons i dunno about.

IIRC they are silly money to fit aftermarket.

Approx

There are a few companies offering aftermarket HID (xenon) headlight conversions.

A quick Google found these two:

hidlights

H-I-D

IMHO after-market Xenons aren't worth it really, if you don't have them you may as well buy Xenon-like bulbs, it's cheaper and works pretty well if I read on this site ;)

Don't know for sure, but I suspect it will be costly to retrofit because of all the sensors needed? Sure that nice Mr Lummox can advise :D

Xenon-like bulbs? I'm intrigued...

Where can you find them? Surely they can't be as effective as factory fitted Xenons for

Nope they're not quite as effective but they are much better than the OEM bulbs.

http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk was the company I happened to use, there are others out there of course ;)

Part of the much higher cost is also the washer system and larger 'bottle' for the washer fluid (handy though that ;))

Uprated bulbs can give you up to 50% more light at the same power ratings. You can get HID-effect ones which have a similar colour to Xenons.

I've tended to upgrade at the very least my dipped beam bulbs on every car I've owned.

At the moment you tend to get some free side-lights too :)
