i've seen an octavia 2 VRS '57 for sale for plate 3995 with 12 months MOT and 67,000 miles with maxidot. however it is a cat D write off. Is this a good deal seeing as though the car is fully repaired?

Has anyone ever bought a repaired CAT D write off before and if so how did it work out?

Years ago I used to buy them and do them up.

Personally when dealing with any cat C or D vehicle I'd want to see pre fixed photos so you know what you are buying.

It could have been stolen and recovered with no locks or it could have been in an accident with varying degrees of damage.

Ive had a few in fact I have a Landrover that was written off and had a VIC check done in 2006 and have no problems with it.

They are allways cheaper to buy and I have never had problems with the insurance.

Just do the usual checks and all should be OK.
