What more can I do?

And there we have it…

I'm genuinely sorry Daisy. Life reigns punches on us that we deflect in different ways.

One person's errant father, is another's disabled child - we all have our crosses to bear

Ahhh, when a man loves a woman he shows his love by putting a baby in her tummy,

how old are you?, 12?

I think my sarcasm was lost in translation. Damn this mucky internet forum business

  • I always park in the mum and brat spaces, not to save my car just to pee off the professional "I'm a mother" types.

  • Not much you can do. They're like moths to a flame. They see a shiny undented car and feel the urge to get as close as possible. Then because they are either overdue the grave or have an overactive pi

I like turtles.

I think its time we all sat back, chilled out and helped ourself's to some delicious Honey Baked Ham to calm down.

So this parking lark.... I'm one if this who parks over 2 spaces directly and folds in my mirrors.... If not by the cleanest most looked after car innthe car park is next if not I'll just go to another car park there's three within less than 1/4 of a mile of each other if you've ever been to brighouse :)

No I didn't thanks. There mirror was held together with parcel tape. The car was a wreck. So when I bent down to check for damage on mine and stood back up my back brushed against his mirror and it fell off. So no criminal damage was done. What do you expect to happen to a mirror that's just taped on?

The car park was empty as it was 3am so why park so close to me in the first place. The mind boggles.

I park mines from anyone and when I work in the other shop I have to leave the car in the Co-Op car park. I park tight next to some bollards so if someone does park in the next space there's still room to open doors. Apart from that I often do all my shopping late. Means the car is safe, shop is less busy and I can have a brisk drive home if I want

Let's be honest cars are getting bigger , parking spaces are getting smaller? large 4x 4 do not realy fit in the bays , does anyone know the size of Tesco parking bays , i bet they are smaller than on street ones

Why go in parent and child bays at all unless you have a small baby and struggle to get the seat in that's where the worst dents happen. Some very weird people here, Daisy I really think you need help what a warped set of values maybe that's why daddy left? As for having kids being a financial burden maybe you need a better job that pays more if you can only afford holidays like that because you haven't got kids then it's kind of a Rolex lifestyle on Timex money isn't it?

And that is part of the real problem

We're all obsessed with more safety features and getting more room for our money on cars and as such they have grown over the years yet alot of roads/car park space standards haven't meaning minor damage is alot more common.

The other big problem is peoples lazyness.

Lets be honest, how many of you make a journey in the car to the shops or work which could be done on foot or bike? SWMBO's parents lived without a car for over 15years with 3 daughters. They're local supermarket was/is about 5miles away and SWMBO's mum used togo shopping twice a week and take 1 daughter per trip, the shopping was loaded into the panniers on their bikes. SWMBO's mum also used to work full time.

We've started doing the same, I've been cycling to work this year and doing a 12hour day shift in between (17miles each way and leave home at 5am don't get home until 20:30), I'll stop at Tescos/Aldi/Co-Op on the way home depending on route and carry the shop in my rucksack for the last 7miles. SWMBO will walk or cycle with the boys to Tesco on a weekend (4miles each way) to buy enough food for the weekend, the boys (5yr-8yr) get an adventure yet still helping out and getting some valuble excersise.

Why use the car if you don't need to?

There is going to be a national shortage of Supermarket parking places wide enough for drivers and passengers of 3 door,

Up!, Citigo, Mimi mi's to get out of their vehicles.

If you get back to your vehicle and one has parked next to you, maybe best to check your paint work.

That's why I'll never have a 3 door again. You can't get out because the doors are so wide

I've found the best way to avoid dents in car parks is to drive a people carrier emoticon-0136-giggle.gif .. People in normal cars don't park close enough anymore to dent my car

Not always true. My old focus cmax had a massive gouge taken out of the laquer by a **** in a lexus in morrisons car park (i'm talking about 3 inches tall by 4mm wide). I know its not a cool car but it was mine and i was so p***ed when i saw it i could have swung for the lexus driver :@ . After that i always parked away from other cars if possible and when i couldn't i would park next to the most expensive car possible but even that didnt work thanks to the passenger of a 6 month old vw california who opened the door so forcefully in to my car it chipped the paint off of the door down to the bare metal emoticon-0179-headbang.gif (I was only in the shop for 5 mins max as well). I saw the couple at traffic lights and decided to have a word with them but i got stuck at the lights because they were at red by the time i got there.

Still undeterred when i got the vrs just over 2 weeks ago i was in asda's car park parked as far away from the shop enterance as possible (in a corner space about 1 inch from the curb) and when i came out there was some sh**y fiat people carrier parked on the white line for my space leaving only about the normal space between our cars. No damage was caused but i'm not taking the risk any more and parking over 2 spaces from now on. There is the perfect space for this in asda's car park as well because there is a corner of the car park where there are only 2 spaces together so i'll get it all to myself, no risk of anyone parking next to you  .

Sliding doors are the future!

I have dared to produce off-spring though so it'd have to be the Seat Alhambra!

fit one of these so when the occupant of the offending vehicle exits, they're toast :giggle:

yes I always said these were a great idea , you would not get awy with it here, it's not PC

It's the fault of the supermarkets, they should make all the spaces the same size as disabled and parent child spaces - end of problem.

Thanks Lazy Daisy for the irreverent post it makes a change from all the PC comments we get. lol
