Goodyear vector all seasons (17" rims) who has what & where?

Featured Replies

First of all forgive me posting this separately as I am aware there are postings on winter tyres already.

I want to order some Goodyear vector all seasons as per the title but would like to know what weight and speed rating people have chosen specifically as I know you cannot get W rating ones in this brand. I am thinking of :-

225/50R17 94V

225/50R17 98H

225/50R17 98V GOODYEAR EAGLE VECTOR 4 SEASON XL

Events Tyres (http://www.event-tyres.co.uk) seem to resonable for an all in fitted price, but anyone else suggest any better?

Oponeo.com

Camskill

Mytyres

As always Google usually comes up trumps as a starting point

Forgot to say, is there an altenative size with a deeper profile but retaining the same ( or very similar) rolling circumference? Use the Miata online tyre calculator to check.

Why we need W rated tyres as my Pirellis I just don`t understand!

Surely V are fine which I think my GW3`s are and 99 (could be H) but not sure without diving into the depths of my shed but will know next month when they go back on.

over to you TP!

Cheers

I've got the 94V ones on mine. Bought them from Oponeo and will be getting the same tyres again when needed. Yet to try them in winter conditions, but seem fine with everything thrown at the car so far (dry, rain, hail, floods and plagues of locusts). ;)

Quick question on these tyres - is it best to change these well before the tread depth markers indicate they're close to the legal limit? Or will they remain effective in icy weather up to that point?

I'm hoping to head up to Scotland in Feb (Aviemore) and wonder whether to get new front tyres...

TIA.

Winter tyres need replacing at 4mm. Not sure about any season tyres, but would suggest the same.

Cheers - will check the tread later.

Just had some of these fitted and they seem much quieter than the original Dunlops.

As an aside, Skoda recommend that the all-weather tyre pressures be kept the same as the regular 'summer' tyres (unlike winter tyres for which you increase the tyre pressure by 0.2 bar).

Once you know the pressures you need to set,

best to understand how the pressures should be set in the cold.

Or at least checked and re-set if required & the TPMS checked and re-set.

225/50R17 98H are the right choice. They are XL rated as required and I can see no reason why you would go higher than the H speed rating.
