Can the pre facelift model be modified to look facelift?

Exterior wise yes depending how far you want to go you need to change:

Front wings

Front bumper

FL headlamps(not simple plug in to existing wiring)

Front grille

Rear bumper

You could also change rear light units as the FL has reflectors in the rear bumper.

Both wing mirrors if you want total FL look but I believe these are not a straight plug into existing wiring too.

Interior wise the instrument clusters are not interchangeable but you can change to a FL steering wheel with a new airbag unit(expensive)

TBH just buy a FL Octy

Yes I know that on the plus side the FL could be said to have more presence but there is a certain understated elegance to the pre FL. Do you realy want a car with the model name written inside the headlights?

I rather like the Pre Facelift front end...the back is near identical

VRS looks better pre FL but thats my opinion!

It does if you swap the rear lights to the facelift units without integral reflectors

But vRS ones are identical

As Alan has confirmed, the pre-FL and FL models both use the same bumper (with integral reflectors) so adding the new style lights won't make a difference other than to relieve the owner of a wedge of dosh.

The non VRS model rear bumpers don't have a plastic moulding insert on the FL but I don't like that look anyway. The VRS bumper is so much nicer.

Much prefer the pre-fl look, but there's no accounting for taste!

Exactly - the minor external differences are not worth worrying about (except the chavvy DRLs which are a major turn off for me) but the interior upgrades are much more in keeping with modern cars.

I wanted the best of both worlds so went for one of the LEs - FL on the inside, pre FL on the outside (except the dustbin lid wing mirrors which I unfortunately have). As a kicker I also got nicer leather interior that was available ore or post FL although may have chocolate wheels.......
