Retro fit front fogs

Featured Replies

Hi all, can anybody tell me what I would need to retro fit some front fogs to my ambient, are all the wires behind the bumper somewhere? Do I need to change the switch? And will I need them coding in at all or should they be plug and play.

Cheers Dave

I have an Ambiente also. The wiring isn't there behind the bumper if I remember. I have heard you will need a new switch and some vcds work. Sorry to be vague but I gave up on the idea.

Thanks for the info stormchaser, if the wires aren't there I think I will follow your line of thought and give it up as a bad idea ;) I have retro fitted fogs before on a ford but the wires were already there. I was hoping it would be the same on the octy oh well back to the drawing board.

Depends on how happy you would be with a lash up (well concealed, of course :giggle: ) and if you want fogs bad enough. You also need to be out of warranty!

Fit your fogs. Take a feed direct off the battery, fused off course, run it through the bulkhead to a switch somewhere in or under the facia, back through the bulkhead to the lights. Run a return from the lights to any nearby fastener that contacts the chassis metalwork.

If you want it really fancy, use a relay, but with a suitably rated switch and wire, you may not need it.

Don't forget to switch them off manually. The ignition switch is not involved here.
