Summer Tyres

Featured Replies

So, after just having fitted my winters and acquiring a set of 18" Zeniths, I need a full set of summer tyres anytime between now and March.

Hopefully there will be some nice offers on summer rubber now the rush is on for winters.

So, recommendations welcome and has anyone spotted any good offers yet?

Thinking of maybe Kumho or Hankook as I can't afford Conti Sport Contact 5's!

Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2.

I have had Conti Sport Contact 2, Sport Contact 3, Dunlop Sportmax, GY Eagle Assymetric (1) in this size too and the Assymetric 2's are the best I've had.

Cheers, similar price to conti sc5.

Anyone tried Yokohama S-Drive?

Goodyear F1, or Hankooks... khumo are good till they get to about 3mm then they are a bit lively in the wet... F1'S for the win...

I'm looking for 2 now, thinking of the conti sc5's from black circles for £130 each fitted.

I just keep checking "blackcircles" and "mytyres" and see whats on offer when i need new ones. As long as you get a known brand i doubt you will have any problems. The differences between the main brand sand more common medium grade brands are very subtle TBH, just avoid the chepo tyres with names you dont recognise. LIke "wanli" had them once, OMG - avoid at all costs.

Cheers, similar price to conti sc5.

yes, had 's' drives and about to purchase 4 more, better than Kumho for grip but the Hankooks may last longer, for me I'd go Yokohama all day long.

Bought Yoko's for summer tyres for the last 10 years, never been disappointed so might give them a go - seem to be about £100 each at lovetyres.com, will have to see if I can get them through the local tyre distie

I used event tyres for my Eagle F1's, very good service and price from them - fitted on my drive in Rossendale.

Very happy with the F1s too.
