Simple one, how much oil do I need for my 07 VRS, PD170

Opie oils service packs have 6l so it must be over 5l

I think it needs just over 5 but can't find the right number anywhere

I'm thinking that since it's pretty similar to the PD140, it'll be 4.2L like that.

I'd get a 5L pack and use that.

Remember if you don't suck the oil out of the oil cooler below the filter that's 0.5L left in.

If you don't get every last drop out that's another few hundred ml left in.

The difference from min to max is also 1L, so for 5L you should be fine.

I've regularly done it on a PD140 and used about 4L even after sucking the oil out of the oil filter and cooler.

Good point. There's always a bit left in no matter how well you drain a car.

5 litres on order it is. I've got a 1L top up I carry all the time anyway, so any issue I can top up and get a new one if needed.

The sump capacity on both the PD170 and CR170 diesel vRS is 4.3 litres (including the oil filter capacity).

There you go then.

you could probably get away with a 4L pack, but a 5L will mean you have some to top up
