Scarlets poorly!

Featured Replies

Whilst travelling up a hill in the fog this afternoon Scarlet suddenly lost power and the glow plug warning light started to flash.

After checking the owners manual I managed to limp Scarlet home in 'safe mode' (why do they call it that when it makes you a hazard travelling at such a slow speed!!)

I've contacted Skoda Assist and they are on their way to see if they can make her better.

This is the first time she's been poorly and it's strange.

Skoda roadside assist unable to fix Scarlet so she's off to the garage now :-(

Will get a courtesy car tomorrow.

Bad luck, Dave. Keep us informed.

:'( to hear Dave,

hopefully a quick fix and she will be back home good as new

Regards as always,

Bad luck, Dave. Keep us informed.

Just had a phone call from the garage, the problem is worse than they first thought.

Scarlet needs a complete new turbo which means that I will not get her back until the middle of next week as it's a major job, so I'll have a Fabia estate to use for the next few days. At least it's all done under warranty.

I've asked them to look at the r/o/s light cluster as there's been condensation in it corroding the fog light fitting.

I've picked Scarlet up from the garage nice and clean and well again :-)

They 'traced the fault to turbo impellor loose causing damage to DPF. Removed and renewed turbo and DPF and erased fault memories'

They also traced the fault re my rear light cluster condensation to water ingress due to defective seal, so they removed and renewed the cluster.

The rear badge was replaced as Skoda have done a recall on badges (even though it didn't really need it as it was done when serviced earlier this year).

When doing a check of Scarlet they found a nail in a rear tyre, they removed this and fixed the puncture.

All this was done under warranty by Silbury Skoda, Cramlington. She was even valented for me.

Excellent service by Silbury.

Glad you got her sorted :)

Problem with turbo's if they let go; the collateral damage
