  • Just done a quick edit! I think it'll look really smart!

  • Evening Star, if you are so keen on Kias or VWs then what are you doing being so rude and intemperate on this forum? How can you judge a new car design when it is so heavily disguised? What a pity you

  • I agree Kingsley, I'm so sick and tired of hearing about Kias on this forum from Evening Star that I simply don't use it any longer - I don't tolerate this kind of rubbish. Kias may be honest cars muc

No disguise?! Yes it is.

Not much different from the current one! How can I contain my excitement? Oh yes! Whoopie!

Well, they are sayingh a minimal.

ES, agreed, doesn't look to ground breaking...

There is a lot of disguise, around the headlights , front grill where you can see its stuck over the new style one. Look very closely and you can see tape making false shutlines in the bodywork to give the illusion of the current model.

Skoda are very good at this... wait till the real thing guys. Even though the bodyshell seems to be a very similar shape I think the details will make it a very handsome car in the end.

And the back lights have the pre-FL red reflector through the middle. No reflectors in the bumper.

Bland beyond belief. As least they've seen fit to remove the side rubbing strips that are on the current model, which have no place on a modern car nowadays cos they look naff and do sod all to protect your doors from dings.

shape of body panels kind of reminds me vw jetta.....put on it lights from rapid...+some bits from passat to make it look more expensive and ..... voila new octavia is here :D

There's a whole lot of masking going on there. November is getting close, I notice all the current specials on Skoda in NZ are expiring on 31st October.

Looks like my car behind it

That's better!

All you people doing the normal Briskoda vitriolic ranting really need to try and look through the disguises or wait for the real thing to come out.

That is a lovely sporty update of the classic Octavia, more or less as predicted by the Car magazine piece in December 2011 about Skoda's future plans. This car will wipe the floor worldwide with all the other medium sized non- VAG saloons. It has styling cues way above its level. Another triumph for one of the world's best car companies!

I want some interior shots. The mk7 golf dash is really smart. Hope the octy is similar. In fairness i hope its not a massive difference from the current octy externally, as i dont want mine looking old already :(

I think it will be more of an evolution than anything really radical, the current Octavia still looks smart in Scout & vRS form :)

It will have the new family face, but I don't think it will loose any of the classic Octavia shape. It will just be a little better resolved. To this day the MK1 still looks pretty sharp in the right spec!

Looks like across between a Rapid and Passat

Here's the graphic from the new Octavias infotainment system, seems that Leon had it just about right ;)

Dont think much of the side skirt. Would surely foul most traffic calming measures.

Looks rather Audi A4 to me.

Like the new dash. Especially the multifunction screen and graphics, very modern.
