Picked the car up today

Featured Replies

Hi, collected my first Skoda  today a nice 56 plate vRS estate in race blue, its got zenons, maxidot, 18's, reverse sensors and chilled glove box/big box.

It has covered 72500 miles with full skoda history and come with a 1 year warranty.

The car is an absolute joy to drive after my trusty mondeo, so much power on tap and really smooth too, only thing is while driving home i stopped to put petrol in and £25 worth had gone in before i looked at the fuel flap and it said super unleaded only, i was using standard unleaded. will this be a problem?

No don't worry about using standard fuel, it might just feel slightly more sluggish. Our car runs on a mix of 95-97, whatever's available really.

I normally find that I get slightly better mpg using higher octane stuff, which seems to almost exactly balance out the extra cost.

There is absolutely no problem and in normal traffic I can't say there's any really noticeable difference.

Picked up mine today also,2008 vrs tdi silver with 58000 on the clock,1 years skoda warranty and as a bonus its been remapped already :giggle:

It won't do any harm as a one off but with the TFSi (as a 56 plate is) you don't want to do it too often. I'm assuming the posters above are thinking along the lines of be newer TSis which can run on standard fuel all the time.......

Nice one, welcome to Briskoda!

Any pictures? Show us your pride and joy before it gets covered in winter road muck!
