Speedometer & Fuel Gauge

Featured Replies

Hi,

I brought our 2003 Skoda Fabia comfort to a local mechanic last week. Our oil warning light was on constantly but we had plenty of oil. The mechanic replaced the oil sensor and gave us back the car. As soon as we got the car back we realised that the speedometer and fuel gauge were not working. It seems too coincedental that the problems with the gauge and speedometer occurred at the same time. I assume that they are related. As there was no issue before the oil sensor was changed, l wonder if the work on the sensor could have affected the speedometer and gauge. What do you think?

Fuel guauge sender is under the boot floor, speedo sender is on the gearbox I believe.

Can you check something, does the oil warning light still work when you turn on the igntion. The only thing that I can think of is, has the instrument cluster been removed and not reconnected properly.
