Cheap alarm blip - can it be turned off?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've had my Yeti 140tdi DSG Eleg a couple of weeks now and all's good..... except for one little thing - the cheap sounding blip noise when locking and unlocking. A VW or Audi would just have the clunk noise without the naff sounding blip. Can the blip noise be easily done away with? Is there a little speaker somewhere that can be easily disabled?

TIA

Mike

Welcome Mike, yes it can be turned off, look in the maxidot set up for ATA confirm and untick it, it will then be silent.

if you have maxidot, simply disable "ATA Confirm" in one of the menus. If you don't have maxidot you'll need someone with VCDS or a dealer to do it for you.

edit: beaten to it.

Thx for the super fast replies.

Dumb question - how do I know whether my car has maxidot?

I bought it 3mths old 900 miles up de-leased from BP - it's a bog standard Elegance to the best of my knowledge.

Thx

Edit,

Just had a look online - am I correct in thinking anything SE and above has maxidot trip computer?

Best thing to do is to get off my backside and go outside and check it out!

Thanks again guys.

Mike

Elegance has got Maxi-Dot.

IIRC ATA confirm is in settings, then convenience (?), as mentioned my Gizmo and Mannyo just untick and the (annoying) cherp will be gone.

Thx for the super fast replies.

Yes Mike, you have Maxidot.

It is the name for the display system between the speedo and rev counter.

Not that I can test this at the mo, but I'm fairly sure my spare fob for the Yeti doesn't give a blip, yet the one I use daily does. Weird!

Yes, you have to un tick the ata box on the maxi dot, using each key. Settings are individual to what key is used at the time settings are changed.

Ah - cheers :)

Thanks guys - all sorted.

Cheers,

Mike.

I turned mine off the other day, don't know if it has anything to do with this but I find the folding mirror function from the key fob is not as responsive.
