Indy = Independant garage ;)

E.g. Unit 18 Automotive near Milton Keynes - who are one of our Sponsors - or TTS Roadsport in Bedford.

Got mine done with water pump on Gti turbo mkiv ( same as vRs i think )for less than £200 for cash at an Indy vw garage.

It's in Leeds so if you are close enough PM me.

I'm based in Hertfordshire - the quote was from a skoda dealer why didn't they mention the fixed price deal I don't know

I spent more than £450 in cash on other bits and bobs being done at the same time so he probably made from me on the other bits.

Plus, he is a well established garage so he may get a better deal than you may think.

Either way I don't care as that's what I paid!

My apologies.

The cam belt and water pump was £208 plus VAT

Just looked.

Still cheap though.

They didn't tell you because either they don't know or they don't want you know!

?

I've got a bill for what I had done!

What I'm saying is he may/may not have charged me a little bit more for the rest of the work and used the cambelt as a bit of a loss leader.

Either way I got a hell of a lot of work done for the dosh.

Will skoda was answering italiandave who asked why his dealer didnt mention the fixed price deal ;)

The answer, as posted above, is that either the dealer wasn't aware of the deal (non participating) or they didn't want to disclose it. To be fair, that's not unusual - they will normally take up to £2k off the sticker price of a car but they obviously don't announce it straight off in case they find some mug prepared to stump up the full amount. To do it on servicing bough is not cricket though in my eyes......

I'll ring them tomorrow and say about the fixed deal - cheeky arnt they its a skoda not a Porsche

Just phone another dealer for a quote then see if your local dealer will match it. They'll not likely turn away the business

Skoda are doing fixed price servicing although not seen on the website the offer is still valid until December 369 for cam belt and water pump and 249 for cambelt alone i think. I was in the dealer on Friday ad noticed the sign.
