I have noticed that according to the on-line handbook for 5/12 on the factory fit Amundsen + it says the unit has DAB, but I have asked both the supplying dealer and customer services and neither of them has provided an answer. Does the factory fit unit supplied now (my order is supposed to be build week 45) have DAB and / or 7 figure postcode search. Anyone??????

PS my 60 reg VRs has the standard Amundsen without.

It has 7 figure post code search. It works very well.

The unit has DAB but it's the wrong system for use in the uk as we use a different DAB broadcast system to the one used in europe

Does the unit have DAB+ enabled then (the European one)? I hope so because it is a superior system to just DAB and it is likely that in the near future the uk will start to embrace it.

Just to add to my confusion the new Octavia Vrs Blackline has the Amundsen+ and it states in the blerb from Skoda UK that it has DAB and it works in the UK, The online handbook for the car has the same instruction handbook as the factory fit Fabia Vrs Amundsen+ with 3 versions of DAB all included.

Looks like I will have to wait for them to build my car and get it here and I will find out.

I aked the local dealer last month if the Fabia had DAB available with Amundsen+ as we would like change our car if it was.

They said it wasn't currently and they don't know when it will be.

Not sure of the relevance, but the Amundsen+ in my 2012 Yeti Urban has DAB. Not sure if it's the aforementioned European version though.

It does work well and makes Talksport and R5L bearable. Liking Radio 4 extra too.

Might be slightly off track here, but me and the wife noticed a thin black line embedded into the windscreen of our vRS's goes from the rear view mirror down the screen about 3/4's of the way, when we asked the dealer about this he said it was the DAB aerial ready for when they started to fit DAB stereo's !

Hi, so does anyone definitively know if the Amundsen + can be set to receive DAB in the fabia? The thread embedded above said that an ariel (and mic for Bluetooth) would be all that's needed plus the software (vcds was it?) to get them to work but when the unit was taken out there was no ariel point.

I guess it would be useful to know if the unit is identical to the one in the yeti? Then understand what's needed.
