Mudflaps for a octavia VRs

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I picked up my new VRs Blackline a couple of weeks ago in race blue metalic and each time I go out even in the slightest damp conditions the side of the car gets splattered which is really spoiling my day!

The dealer told me they don't do either front or rear mudlaps for it- is that correct as it seems barking you can't get flaps for their flagship model. I upgraded from a 1.4TFSI SE plus which was a nice car, but obviouly not as much fun as the blackline and had flaps front and rear on that and it seemed to stay a lot cleaner- guess the lack of flaps plus the 225/40 tyres sticking out further are to blame.

Please help me and advise where I can get some decent flaps that will help stop my nice shiny new car getting dirty every time I go out.

I don't want the great big rally type, which I've seen on some VRs's. if any Skona parts fit/can be moulded into shape that would be great- if you had the part number so I can pass this on to the dealer it'd be a big help. Alternatively if anyone knows of some aftermarket ones that'l fit that would be good too.

Is it just me or was the Blackline the steal of the year?

cheers

Ade

Hi

I've got a 2011 vrs. I've used the "normal" Octavia flaps on the front. Fit is perfect. I don't have flaps on the rears but others have again used the non vrs flaps (although some say the fit is iffy)

Sorry, don't know the part numbers.

Do a search. Plenty of information

Hi and welcome aboard.

I have standard mudflaps all round

No problems fitting except the rears are a tight fit

Thanks for the replies chaps. When you say normal and standard do you mean the rounded or more square ones. I'm leaning towards the squarer ones if they'll fit, purely because they'd probabl offer a bit more protection. Thoughts?

Cheers

Ade

Hello Ade and welcome along. Either the rounded or the square will fit, I went for the square as they offer marginally more protection. The fronts go on fine the rears you're better off standing in a bucket of warm water for a few minutes before you fit them then you can get the profile exactly right

Cheers. I'm a bit ottl about keeping my cars clean I'm afraid and as this is the best car I've ever owned I want to look after it, part and parcel of being an ex-biker I guess! I'm going for the square ones too and will be ringing my dealer tomorrow. Thanks for the advice. Ade

They don't offer that much protection to be honest but are better than nothing I suppose.

Get it detailed and finish off with a good few layers of wax to help try and prevent damage.
