Blackline. Badge

Featured Replies

Hi all , got an alfa romeo blackline limited edition badge ( cant seem to add link ) from eBay, wanted the blackline to stand out a little Fits nicely under the octavia badge on the boot ...... Opinions ???? Personally the cars should come with it anyway '

Don't do it. It will look carp.

As like your other post if you like it go for it. Bluetac it in place, have a look and if you like stick it down.

Most on here debadge rather than add badges.

+1 for debadging. Less is more.

Looks like there's two styles of Alfa Blackline badge... and they both give me the impression it'd look gash!

why would anyone want to de badge a car unless its to drive like a nutter when someone tries to overtake you,.get a life leave it as it is and drive legally. Back in the day people used to put Morris Cooper S or Austin Cooper S badges on 850cc minis, aspirers, and some the nutters either de badged or put 1000cc mini bages on there bored out 1293cc cooper S to supprise other motorists trying to overtake. If the car is a genuine Blackline i see nowt wrong i badgeing it that way Skoda should have done it anyway it is a Blackline in the logbook..

Maybe because we are not all sheep.

Debadging your car wont change your driving style, being a **** will.

To be honest, no body except another clued up vRS driver will have ever heard of a Blackline. It's more about the free leather and Amundsun for me.

I would leave it mate.

As said so eloquently, it's about individual identity. When I had my golf MkII G60 (which was the fastest model made at the time (NOT the Rallye) except the motorsport made 'Limited' which was a 16v version of mine and only 71 were made, all in Gunmetal Grey!), I took all the G60 badges off and just replaced them with blank plates from lower spec models and on the back had a MkV silver stick-on letters which simply said 'GOLF', so that it could only be recognised by those who knew the small factory differences (flared wheel arches, mainly), but I didn't hoon it around, just liked the anonimity and the fact only other Golf nuts would know.

Also, he's not DEbadging it, he's badging it. Clue's in the word. ;)

Glad people have their opinions , personally don't see the point of de badging but that's up to those who do ..... Still waiting for the sodding car but I will blue Tac it on and see what it looks like ..... I still maintain the blacklines should have some identifying marker

I've been agressively over/undertaken and cut up by many a t*sser in a fast/slow/old/new car, some debadged, majority badged. Significance? None.

Personally I hate getting cleaning products clogged around the lettering and hence my low powered 1.6CR is...wait for it....debadged.

I debadged my Octy estate. Well, partly, as I took the Octavia badge off and left the vRS one. Personal preference. Certainly not to surprise people with its speed (as the vRS badges are still in place).

However, I do quite like the look now with black 16" steels and winter tyres. Looks like a lower spec Octy but still has a startling turn of 200 bhp petrol-powered pace.

It's fun to slightly change from the stock look - each to their own with their own car!

The Blackline is just a run out model, nice as it is it was possible to spec a normal vRS pretty much identically, not to mention with the 2.0 TSi and other nice factory options. Its a good value route into a nice looking nicely spec'd vRS diesel but I'm not sure I'd want to boast about it being a Blackline; particularly by sticking an Alfa badge on the tailgate.

Yeah, doesn't seem to have the same kudos as the LE they did before the revised model came out. Seems a bit of an afterthought, but that's just my opinion. Most car manufacturers do it.

It will no doubt suit some as a cheap way to get a few options (I like the DAB), but certainly nothing really special about it.

Why not offer petrol too?? It's not like VAG need to give away 170 CR engines. They are in demand - have been for ages. It wasn't so long ago that the waiting list for a diesel vRS was horrendous.

The LE had a bit more of a 'limited edition' feel to it. The blackline had a more 'special edition' feel - basically a range of standardised options at a cost saving. It's a bit of a 90s way of selling the final stocks but it worked and some people got a deal, so all good.

I'm not sure I get the 'sheep' comment, the car is unmistakably an Octavia - badge or no badge, and unless you've also removed the big Skoda roundel I'm guessing most will recognise you as driving a common car.

I removed my badges.

And replaced them with the new ones!

Awful. Reminds me of something from a 1980s Capri

Sorry mate, the doors are not to my taste at all.

But each to their own.

I had this made up for my SuperTouring, not to everyone's taste but I like it.

I know where your coming from though to wanting a an external badge to show the special/limited edition.

Couldn't you put black carbon where the vRS colours are so you'll have black and chrome vRS logos? Not a fan of the sticker though...

What about getting the word 'octavia' painted black.

Would be subtle

Yes i had one of them to a JPS. 2.8 Capri. Ithought that looked good in its day very fast crap handling. Im not sure about the Blackline on the side when ido the door pillars i may well remove them, but the back IMHO. looks OK.

I really woudln't bother sticking anything on the back to say its a blackline, those stickers look god awful. End of the day its just a standard Octy VRS CR170 with some pre picked options on it, unlike the LE which had stuff that was totally exclusive to that model. Drive the car enjoy it.

The only people who are going to know what a blackline badge would mean are the same people who are going to think it looks daft.

Dear lord! :peek: Each to their own but it's starting to look like one of those kids cars where they stick all the makes of the aftermarket add-ons down the door!

The idea of spraying the badge black would probably be a lot better looking. Nice & subtle.
