100PS 1.9 tdi light misfire

Featured Replies

hi all,

my wife's car has been super reliable up to now, touching on 120k miles now.

Lately it has develop an issue. First noticed when cruising at a steady speed on a dual carriageway maybe 60mph glowplug light came on then went out.

More recently, when engine is cold-ish at around 1500 rpm light load misfires for a second or so, then OK, then a few second slater comes back misfiring for a second or so, then OK for the rest of the day!

No issues when hot. As far as I can tell cold starts are fine too.

It has full main dealer service history, but the fuel filter has not been changed for a while, I think around 20-25k miles.

SO I will be changing the filter, but wondered if anyone has any suggestions? I am kind of hoping it's just the injector loom, as these are relatively inexpensive, but perhaps people have other ideas?

No smoke, blue white or black.

The car is a 2005 BTW. Many thanks!

MAF sensor?

Not sure, could be worth changing.
