Octavia 2.0 TDI CR VRS Manual Hatchback FL 2010 Model *low mileage*

The time has come to sell my 2010 (10 plate) Octavia VRS diesel hatchback 2010 facelift model. I am the only registered keeper from new and I am a non-smoker. The condition of the car is excellent both inside and out, with no curbing to the alloy wheels and was treated to Autoglym lifeshine on purchase from a local Skoda dealer, with Autoglym products used throughout it's life.

The details are as follows:

Registration: 30/06/10

Colour: Race Blue

Mileage: 22,000 (used daily so this will slowly increase)

Tax: June 2013

Manufactuers warranty: June 2013

Transmission: Manual

Optional extras: Rear parking sensors and boot mat

Complete main dealer service history with the car last being serviced on 18,843 miles at 01/06/12

This is a great example of the Octavia VRS diesel and includes all the feature you would expect including:

18" unmarked alloy wheels

Radio/6 cd autochanger

Aux in connection

Cruise control

Electic and heated door mirrors

Tyre pressure monitor

Isofix anchorage points

Dual climate control

Car has no outstanding finance, and have the documents to prove this.

I am looking for £12,995 ono.

Thanks for looking!

Price now reduced to £12,495 in line with other similar private examples.

Nice car, on my shortlist but out of my budget at moment, looking at 10.5k. considering my car as px with dealers who have a few around your asking price. Another here for £11,750 albeit with more mileage but again with option of px bringing price down for me.

Thanks for the interest mate.

Looking at Auto Trader, it seems that most cars with similar age and mileage to mine are up for £13k, albeit with main dealers.

Obviously there is room for negotiation in my price, however over the weekend I have been offered an £11.4k cash payment by a local dealer, which has tempted me just for the ease of the transaction. Therefore, I have to weigh up how low I can realistically go privately to make it worth my while vs giving it to the dealer to make a handsome profit....

That's a good offer if they are genuine, only saying because there are a couple on auto trader for £12.5 k with 32k on clock

And another for about £12.8k with just over 30k on clock, with mark up on traders prices I think my price isn't too bad tbh.

With a dealer I'd be looking at px my focus and I think I'd get about 2k bringing the price down to 10.5k.

If you don't end up selling to a trader then I'd be interested. Got my eye on several cars at the moment only thing stopping going to a trader at the moment is because I need to have my cherished plate removed off the focus.

The offer they have made seems genuine, however I wanted to take a few days to mull it over and check there was no further interest on the private market.

The cars you've seen on auto trader are both good examples. The first is on a '59' plate so I would guess that the warranty has either expired or is about to expire. The second on a '60' plate looks the more competitively priced to me. Neither car however has rear parking sensors which I believe are an important extra on this car due to it's large back end and is a £300 option at new. All depends on what you have driven before though, and how much value you place on it.

As things stand, i'd be looking to do a deal for £12k but would not drop below that mark at this point in time.

Not being funny but if you can get £2k px for your Focus, why don't you sell it privately for that amount? Bearing in mind you tend to get less as px compared to selling privately, it shouldn't take too long to sell at that price. Then, with that capital added to your £10.5k budget, buy Chappers' vRS? Then everyone's a winner. Simples.

because i've got to get my cherished plate removed off my focus which could take 2 weeks. as soon as that comes off i'll be visiting a dealer, only thing now is that the other half has got her eye on a new shape focus whereas i am pushing for a new mondeo, too many decisions. anyway i'm sure the op will sell his soon. if he doesn't my offer will still be on the table for a couple of weeks.
