converting octavia vrs front bumper LED's etc

Featured Replies

hi guys i currently have a 08 plate octavia vrs and was wondering which parts id need to change if i wanted to put the new style bumper with LED's and the headlights. woul di need to change wings and bonnet too?

To get the strip LED DRL's from the facelift vRS to fit to a pre-FL vRS you'll need a new bumper. The new bumper then requires the new headlights and front wings.

The best thing to do is fit the OEM LED DRL's that are fitted to the Scout and Fabia vRS as they are are straight swap for your current front fog lights.

You'll need some coding done using VCDS (setting the 'use front fog's as DRL's') and to buy some LED DRL's (expensive through a Skoda main dealer but can be had on eBay or SuperSkoda). You will then of course sacrifice the use of your front fogs, although in theory the LED DRL's will light up when the front fog light switch is turned on.

hmm not liking d look of those..would bonnet n grille need changing too or just wings lights n bumper? also will d new wings just bolt straight on?.mine is a cr dsg so if I changed the front technically it is a fl model..

Anybody done the drl mentioned in the pasted thread - seems great idea

The pasted thread is mine, the idea behind it was the hope that someone with more time and technical expertise would give it a go!

Can't believe it's not been done yet - somebody must do it.

I have seen a thread somewhere, maybe not here where someone fitted a FL vrs bumper to a Pre-FL and kept the original headlights..

Must go look through my bookmarks see if i can find it again :)

Think I'd prefer the Fabia vRS LED DRL's sat in the pre-FL's front fog apertures!!

Seems like a lot of messing around - if money/time were no object I would do it using existing bumper
