Featured Replies

What's the black looking cylindrical thingme bob in the top left hand corner ?

I have the spare wheel option, and don't notice this part....what is it? Am I missing something...

Cheers,

Hung

It is pushed into the alloy wheel holes to extract the wheel nut covers. Otherwise almost impossible to get off.

Ah my mistake it looks like I do have it after all ..... I assume that's the plastic tweezers

Push the tweezers over the the wheel bolt head plastic trim cap, it will then click on and you can then easily pull the cap off. The security bolt cap is round. Next to the tweezers in your picture I think is a cheap torx screwdriver, and then a wire hook, I think to pull off wheel trims. At the bottom looks like the screw in towing eye - note: LH Thread. The last bit is the security bolt adapter.

I don't have the spare wheel so layout is slightly different.

Most tyre fitters don't bother with it and use long nose pliers to extract plastic caps so don't worry if you lose it.

I haven't got this black thing (though there is a hole where it could go) I've just got the tweezers and the hook etc BUT.....

Do you think it could be a tool for removing/fitting the DLR bulbs - which are a pig to fit - it looks the right shape ????

Don't think so as when we took delivery dealer demonstrated it's use on the plastic wheel nut covers.

and spoil the finish of the caps!

Ours didn't but possible I suppose...he used a bit of paper towel to cover jaws and that was a Kwikfit man!

The black thing, is the tweezers for removing the plastic wheel bolt covers.

The tweezers work really well...an excellent tool from VW....I mean Skoda!!!...easy mistake though as most of the things underneath are stamped VW.
