Timing Belt

Featured Replies

Got a quote for my timing belt and waterpump including VAT for £320 from a VW specialist near Edinburgh. Is that a reasonable price ?

Does it include parts?

and who? im looking at getting it done soon and i live in Edinburgh

If that is parts & labour all in then yes! But do check your local Skoda dealership because I noticed last week that they were advertising cam belt change for £250, I can't be sure but I thought it also mentioned water pump. I would have taken more notice if my car was coming up for a change.

Yes included parts labour and vat from Autohaus in Loanhead. Will check out my local dealer in uphall then!

Autohaus are just round the corner from me! not impressed by them! works good, communication is crap! time keeping is worse!

I got mine done at an independent garage for £250 all in with water pump.

Phil

Sounds good.

I got mine done not long ago by Skoda dealer... £369 all in. They originally quoted over £400!

Trev they used to be decent when I first used them in 2010, but I agree, they've went downhill !

My work use them for all our vans.

So i started using them, good workmanship, but there time keeping is awful, organisation is the same!

Headless chickens come to mind!

But i dont know who else to use? or of any other VAG specialists around Edinburgh!

id like to clarify what i said about autohaus by the way.

The guys are good, they do try there best to fit you in when they can, and they are good mechanics and would do a good job!

Theyve done me a few good favours over the last few months with regards to the fab.

But they constantly busy so the time keeping can be off, not to be taken as a bad thing, just means they are busy same with the headless chickens part, they are just busy, so i do stand by what i said, just wanted to clarify it better for anybody in and around the area who needs a decent garage.

Hope this is suffice Davie/Stevie
