Yeti 1.8 TSI by January

Featured Replies

Hello to everyone. I have a Yeti 1.8TSI 4x4 on order, due to be delivered in late December and registered in early January (in order to avoid paying a full year's worth of Greek road tax just for a few days).

Thanks to all of you for the extremely useful information available on here, and I look forward to becoming more active once I take delivery of the SM!

Cheers,

George

Hello and welcome along George

Good luck with it - a cracking car but I am biased I guess! :)

Thanks to all of you!

FocusZtec - I am afraid that my stock (at least to start with) 1.8TSI will have little to do with your monster! I've been following (and drooling over) your project, I think it's as close to the perfect Q-car as one can get. Good job!

Now if I can only get a Shark Performance map here in Greece I may start trying to follow in your footsteps...

Thanks - Appreciate the comment. I highly recommend the Stage 1 Shark Performance remap. Its a great car as standard though! Without the map I just found it didnt pull particularly well in 5th and 6th but as an all round, flexible vehicle, capable of carrying out many different duties - im sure you'll love it. :)

A Stage 1 Shark remap is what I have been thinking about, for that little added oomph. It is not yet clear, however, if I will be able to do that from Greece, as compatibility with their STS system depends on the type of ECU. I am worried that -as the car is a new build- the ECU will need "benching" which I cannot see how to do with the car in Greece.

Anyway, I guess I'll first wait to drive the car in its standard setup and then see how I go on from there. The folks at Shark Performance seem to be very responsive to queries, so I'll contact them when the time is right.

I'm sure I'll love the car anyway, I think it covers all the needs of our small family perfectly!

Hi and welcome aboard.
