What's going on with my MPG?

Featured Replies

This is a screenshot of my MPG app. It's ridiculous how often I fill up and how far it DOESN'T go! I drive like a granny most of the time.

I don't have a boost leak etc :-/

Air filter seems to be fine. I have a Jetex filter in.

What does the car tell you the MPG it's doing?! Mine always displays about 54-56 mpg yet I think it's around 45-48 mpg tbh.

I've just downloaded that app, I will fill up tonight and see how I get on with it.

What app is this?

Thats what i want to know! Your maf sensor may be ****ed!

I typed in 'mpg app'

It's called 'road trip' I've downloaded the LITE version.

Yep Dan is right it's called 'Road Trip' and this is also the Lite version.

VCD's will tell me if the MAF is goosed won't it?

48 MPG is pretty poor. I get over 50 round town, but and I like a bit of spirited driving, or even loosing chavs in Corsets/Clios who try to take the P out of someone they think is old .

48 mpg is a normal figure for a VRS. What is going on with that 20mpg figure though, you did 180 miles on 40 litres of fuel??

This is from tonight's commute home from work:

This is what it normally reads (roughly)....

Teebs, that's 180 miles to 21 litres

Hmm I don't understand that screenshot at all then!

The computer read-out is notoriously inaccurate, I see 65+ mpg often on my journeys on the computer but it'sonly ever above 50mpg calculated on long, smooth motorway trips. 48mpg for relaxed mixed driving is normal in my opinion.

Up to this time last year Furby was off the road due to cash problems.Battery had suffered terminal failure ,so was replaced. Once started .car was lumpy, but soon picked up. Then battery was removed for the good folks at unit18 to replace the clutch. On way home it was like a new engine.
