Has anyone else had this only started today quite an irritating whine whilst ticking over doesn't go when depressing clutch but not there whilst being drove

Check your belts, you could try spraying a bit of wd40 on the belt and pulley bearing around the alternator?

Did it go away when you sprayed it? If it went away, the noise will come back when it dries up.

belt should be cheap to replace so do that first, If that doesn't work

try isolating the noise by spraying the tensioner bearing first, then the alternator etc.

Hopefully it will just be the belt
