Guys, where is the engine code on the block?

should tell you on the V5

Thanks but where on the engine block?

Can also find the engine type code on the black data panel in the drivers door frame

Not sure on the block, as there often used for various codes of engine, some have it on a main engine bar code sticker placed on the cam belt cover, induction pipe etc.

You find the engine code here on the engine, drivers side on UK cars.

This is what you want to read, (The actual Code as it was produced.)

Same with the Engine Numbers, VIN.

not on Service manuals or stickers, pieces of paper..

Down the Line if there is a Replacement Engine fitted, the Code & Engine number is what matters.

The other Stickers, Service book or V5 might not have got changed at the time.

Cheers George, any idea how I can see if it's CAVE or CTHE from this?

Hasn't CTHE only just started rolling out? How could it be possible to be on a 2011 car like yours? (or mine...)

Be updating my project thread soon, had a little change to it!

The CAV appears at the start or the engine number,

ie

mine is 'CAV 2122**' (** )is 2 more numbers i astrixed. & that is a 2010 engine.

To be honest i do not know where the engine numbers are on the block,

& even tho i said ignore the paperwork, i have to look at the V5

& from the V5,

the vehicle type is 'Variant' ABCAVEX01

'Version' NFD7FD7AM01515N

'Model' Fabia VRS S-A

You may indeed my friend

Update it soon! Really interested!

Ahhhh id wondered why youd been rather quite on here for a while

On the sticker in the spare wheel well. Plus in your service book same sticker

As i said regarding 'Stickers', If a CTHE engine is inserted into the front of an older car by SKODA ,

& that car came out the factory with a CAVE engine,

Then SKODA need to Produce a new sticker for the boot, & some one needs to stick it in the car,

or the sticker, V5 & service book will not match the engine in the front.

OK for the owner now that knows, maybe not for a future owner.

As i said in another thread and also by wills here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/251137-cylinder-2-coil-pack-us/page__st__60 post 61. The original engine number is stamped onto the replacement. therefore it will still be recognised as a CAVA engine and not the CTHE (?) and as such no need to update the V5 etc.

Allegedly, these replacements are all to the latest spec which i am hoping is equivalent to the CTHE and includes the breather mod as well. So far just over 450 miles in after the replacement engine was installed and minimal oil useage to date. Hopefully this is how things will be throughout the rest of my ownership (fingers crossed).
