Best Easy / Quick Wax for Black Magic

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Got our new Black Magic Octavia Elegance at the weekend. Bodywork is excellent, with a couple of small scratches which I intend to remove with Scratch X.

After that I am looking for a nice simple wax treatment to give a reasonable gloss/shine and good water repellance. I know there are lots of pretty involved products but I am looking for a relatively quick wax product - apply, buff off, done ... that sort of thing.

What would people suggest?

Turtle wax gloss guard.

Check out the rest of Meguires stuff. I didnt know much about them until I helped a mate clean his black mk4 Astra at the wekend before the redline rumble, quite possibly the best products ive ever used, no hassle even in bright sun to clean it up to a streak free shine a mile deep. When my car is resprayed I know what ill be using to keep it on top form.

I use Zymol Carbon wax on mine.

Thanks for the help guys - I shall assemble my products ...

Swissol...I can have the Superb waxed and buffed in 40 mins tops.

Swissol too. Applying the wax and polishing was the quickest and easiest part of a thorough clean on Tuesday.

I agree with the Meguiars products, they are reasonably priced, easy to apply and are a doddle to polish off.

If you use their website, use their car clinic, they will recommend products specific to your requirements and boy they do work.

Bought their products 3 weeks ago and will never go back to any other stuff.

OK, Swissol maybe better, (never used it), but don't forget to tell your Bank Manager first.

At the end of the day, we are not all loaded with money, and you have got to be pretty sensible with what you buy,

Try Meguiars, their range is very good and the products are one of the best.

Depends how you view cost on Swissol. I've had my tub for a year now, and its not down even one fifth on its original level, and thats waxing the car every 4 weeks or so.

Thanks all.

The Meguiars Scratch X and wax worked really well and my baby now looks absolutely fanastic. I purchased the products from fasteronline.co.uk in the end.

Also impressed with the Skoda touch-up kit, which I used for a couple of stone chips - hardly noticeable after a touch-up, lacquer, Scratch X and wax.

Thanks again ...
