Featured Replies

Car is in for a service so we have been let lose with furby 1.4 MPI estate classic (soooo basic!!!! )

Dad was shocked, he wants to know where the engine has gone! It has no go, well ok it does, but not much!!! Front slides whilst doing 30mph going round corners!!

Honest ........I think it must have fallen out...I had to go downhill to get to 70

:peepwall:

But it sounds nice :D

;)

You got a 'proper' car at last! Non of this Octy big car rubbish, a proper car that can only be made faster with stripes, wheels and spoilers!

If it was mine and I was keeping it I would be into Halfords so fast you wouldn't believe it ...................to get some pushbike pedals fitted so it would go faster :D

Maybe it's a different 1.4 to the one in my (and DGW's) Octavia? I know mine goes well enough

Hmm, which engine have you got in the Octy? Isn't it the 1.9TDi? That kicks out 105bhp? I think thats right (shoot me if I'm wrong), so a 1.4 16v 100bhp 'should' be quicker than normal.

It does seem really slow compared to my 130+bhp octy but at a guess this furby has about 60 bhp I got outaccelerated by a post office van tonight :o

Should have 100bhp, unless it's the 8v which is unlikely. The engine cover has 16v on it.

I wouldn't worry about the postie, they are all nutters.

Well, they're quite quick sometimes. I had Michael Schumacher's distant postie cousin behind me in a red post office transit tonight. I struggled to put any distance between him and me before 40mph traffic stalled us both. :thumbdwn:

It hasn't got 16 V on the engine cover and in the hand book there is a 44kw version ........I think I got that one

I had a 100bhp tdi pd one before and I reckon this one has half the power of that

Dude, wheres my engine???!

Simple...

Jasons nicked it! :rofl::rofl: :D

what with that and dogging .............looks like Jason is expanding his horizons :D:rofl:

The 1.4 MPI is the 8v old Skoda engine. and around 60bhp

The 1.4 16v in manual is 100bhp, in automatic (and in the Fabia Sport) it is 75bhp

It's gone back.....hooooooray ....if that was 60 bhp some one must have cut the legs off of most of them

no, the Fabia is a bit lardy, especially in estate form. The enging is a bit gutless and not too economical in the heavy fabia (you can easily get 10mpg more in the 100bhp 16v)

You think the classic was bad, try it in a comfort with the airconditioning on.
