Squeak!

Featured Replies

The VRS has developed a squeak!!! Well i say squeak, its quite a deep squeak if that makes sense.

It almost sounds as if its something rubbing, im pretty sure its coming from the rear.

Its not all the time, its not consistant with bumps, it does squeak on bumps but not all, its not speed dependant either and it does effect the way the car drives.

Its just baffled me abit, i havnt had chance to have the jack out and give things a wiggle etc but just wondered if anyone had any ideas?

Mine did it for about 3 weeks, seemed to only do it when suspension was going up if you know what i mean. I sprayed a spray grease on anything that moves and seemed to sort it. I suspect it was to do with rear beam bushes, or the bolts

How are your rear bump stops?

Mine turned out to be a broken spring, wd40 stopped the squeaking for a week or so

thanks guys, i was thinking of maybe a spring after reading that then go.

As for bump stops no idea at the mo as not had chance to have a look at anything as not had chance to jack it up. But its not on big bumps so guessing not.

The cars only on 63k so im hoping its nothing to major just yet, although i know it doesnt work like that.

Thinking about it didnt it on thaf back from work last night and the only difference was it was wet! So hopefully that means its just something rubbing somewhere and so easily sorted!

Err forgot to mention that when it was wet I didn't squeak, only found out at mot time it was the spring
