'Clunk' when I take my foot off

Featured Replies

Not sure whether it's normal or not.

300 miles on my new VRS 170 DSG and when I take my foot off the gas there is a little clunking noise. Is this normal or could it be something that needs tightening or something else. Any thoughts? I'm far from knowledgible about cars but is just feels like a loose drive shaft if there is such a thing on my car.

Thanks

I notice this every now and again too. Not sure why though?

I had something which sounds like this, especially when the car was cold. I replaced the wishbone bushes with uprated Audi TT ones which solved the problem.

Depends what kind of clunk. On my old TFSi it was the air intake hitting the radiator because the clip holding it in had broken.....

It's like a 'chucka chucka' noise. It's a 3 week old Blackline.

As you go from power on (engine turning road wheels) to power off (road wheels turning engine) the two parts of the DMF will move relative to each other, this would be my first suspect.

This only gets worse as they deteriorate.
