Redex diesel treatment ?

Featured Replies

All of my previous diesel cars I've used it every 3 or 4 fill ups as I tended to use supermarket fuel.

Is it wise to continue using it on my 60 plate VRs ?

Probably better using better fuel, like v power.

I would steer clear of redex, just stuff i have heard about it, i would rather use millers diesel aditive. Of the two i have used millers actually returned better mpg, pick up and quitened the engine a little.

I agree with abarth. Don't use redex. Millers is the best additive to use.

i have started using v power average mpg has gone up from 38 to 43.

I was under the impression that any extra additive in a CR was deemed a bad idea.

Or is that another forum/internet myth?

I agree. The high-pressure fuel pump relies on the libricating qualities of Diesel, these are guaranteed by the standard that fuel is supplied to. Adding anything to it could damage your expensive CR gubbins.

Safe advice - but isn't Millers supposed to aid lubricity?

Get some Millers and a decent quality fuel something like shells own diesel extra, v power is pointless.

There's a VERY evident difference in performance (for the better) after I use Morrisons diesel....
