Tom Tom mobile

Featured Replies

Is anyone using Tom Tom mobile for smartphone.

Been thinking of GPS for a while and was wondering whether or not people think it's worth the bother.

Andy,

there is someone...but I can't remember his name....was a thread in Tech shed a little while ago.

It use the BT link to a wireless GPS receiver...so if you use a BT headset your buggered unless your mobile has concurrent BT functionality.

That said TT sounds go....I need to get a 128M reduced size dual voltage SD card though....couldn't find any apart from Amazon and they were around

Cheers Adrian I shall hop to the shed for a gander.

One word of warning, having gone the cut-price option of sat-nav (viaMichelin MapSonic on a Palm handheld)...

Make sure you can see the screen of the sat-nav OK when it's sunny!

If it wasn't for the voice commands, mine would be virtually useless on a bright day :thumbdwn: I gather 'proper' sat-navs are better because they use a different type of screen (TFT or something?), which your smartphone may or may not have. If it doesn't, you'll be in the same boat as me...
