Wasn't expecting this but it just turned up. Anyone else got an update yet?

On what, phone tablet ??

Just arrive on my nexus 7 tablet

Just a note - 4.2 _breaks_ google voice.

Confirmed on XDA-Devs.

If you like using it, don't upgrade if you can help it.

Google have sent out an update to fix the google voice issue.

I don't use google voice but nice to see they fixed it before I realised it was broken :giggle:

Be nice if it ever reaches the S2 via an OTA.

Otherwise it'll be JellyBAM until it's time to standardise on a work phone.

I wish I knew what that meant - I've got an S2 on 4.03

The S2 is on 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 which is fine.

OTA just means over the air, so that you can get it from your network provider or via Keis.

If that's not going to happen any time soon, then JellyBAM is a custom ROM that you can install on your phone, which is an android 4.2 custom version.

It should find it's way to some of the older phones.

I think anything with at least 512mb of RAM should be able to handle it.

It's not a major leap forward from ICS really.

I have been tempted but really want to keep a Sense ROM on my HTC.

FWIW, O2 are currently testing JellyBean (4.1.2 firmware IIRC) for the S2 and it is due to be released "imminently" - I'd expect other providers to be in a similar position. JellyBean 4.2 is not due to be officially ported to the S2 apparently.

Updates will be Kies-only...

My update wasn't for 4.2........... 4.1.1 only just out on the prime early October so doubt it would be any time soon.

Well at the moment I am using ARHD on my Sensation but back when I had a Desire I was using a Leedroid ROM.

Not sure where things are with the Desire as I haven't kept up with it but the Leedroid ROM was pretty good. Having said that I think it was Gingerbread.

Have a fish around on here:

Is it worth upgrading to 4.2?

Looking forward to this for the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

yeah, seems good, one or two apps broke and need to be updated. It's not a major change though so I wouldn't get stressed about not having it, but if you have the option then worth doing.

Is it worth upgrading to 4.2?
