Dodgy DRL switch

Featured Replies

Have now and again been noticing that the DRL's aren't coming on, having to tweak the switch to get them back on again.

Think the switch is a bit dodgy and they keep switching off when hitting bumps in the road. Anyone else having this problem?

this may have happened t ok mine as I thought they went off the other day. What do you mean by having to tweak the switch?

Hi there,

I have this issue too. I assumed my drl's were working fine as the switch was in the 'on' position. Just moved into a new place with underground car parking and noticed they weren't lit.

Checked drl switch behind fuse panel below steering wheel.  Flicked back and forth, lights came on... thought 'my bad, switch must have been in the off position'

Parked car again yesterday, drl's not lit up.

So took another look at the drl switch, there is an obvious on and off position, however with a little touch of the switch when in the 'on' position, a subtle 'click' can be heard and the drl's turn off.

As described above I guess a bump in the road is enough to knock the switch and turn the drl's off!

Any help?

A little bit of Duck tape to hold the switch in the on position should be enough.

My worry would be when i have them off, that they would come on by mistake,

but i would know quick enough when people start flashing full beam at me.

Driving with the less bright sidelights on suits me as Day Light (time) Running lights, showing to the front and rear.

Ha good old duck tape, using cellotape at the moment.

I'm going to take it to Skoda and ask for a new switch

People to flash you? They aren't that bright...

People to flash you? They aren't that bright...

Careful.

Youll spark a whole 10 page debate on this if you're not careful. Lol.

There is no debate. Some people do think they are too bright and flash you. And no point trying to tell them they are standard etc. They are stupidly bright in my opinion as well.

Another debate... It's DUCT tape, is it not?  :D

Brand specific.

This is probably why they removed the switch on later 2013 cars!! Mine doesn't have the Switch, If I wanted to disable the DRL's (which I don't!!!!!) I have to pull a fuse!, which also controls the Stop/Start!
