hi all this is my first diesel so have a few questions used to working on old cars petrol mainly so any help greatfull

2006 fabia vrs blt engine i presume

1. fuel fiter is this in the engine bay on these and does it just screw out or do i need to pull a fuse etc before this

2.glow plugs do these just simply unscrew from the head and replace or is there more to it

3.IS THE water pump part off the timing belt or is it seperate from this

1. No need to pull fuse, just take clamps off two hoses and pull the hoses of the filter. Leave the 2 hoses on the control valve part where there is a clip. Just remove this clip and pull out the control valve. there are a few tabs on the fuel filter holder - just push these away and remove fuel filter.

2. glow plugs just screw out.

3. Water pump is driven by timing belt so best to replace when changing the belt.

1. Fuel filter front left of engine bay, usually a grey colour with a black thumbscrew on top

2. Yes, unscrew though on some engines, but not yours IIRC, the fuel pipe can get in the way when removing

3. Yes. When you get the cambelt/ tensioners done, do the water pump at the same time.
