Does anyone know about the new Octavia RS? Whether it is going to be in a diesel, what the bhp is and when it is going to be available?

Pure guesswork but I would say it will have the new vag 2.0 FSI powerplant. Expect around 200hp

Diesel kicking out 180ish bhp and a petrol kicking out 200-225bhp are what has been said.

170bhp 2.0TDi PD unit and a 200BHP 2.0FSI engine.

As above, Auto express put out that the GTI engine is going in the Octy & a 168 BHP diesel engine going in Golf first then into Octy ( drool ..........)

We have had a few separate threads on this new OCTY II VRS.

Skoda have confirmed to a number of magasines (Autocar etc) that the OCTY II VRS will be BOTH 200bhp 2.0fsi turbo (ala Golf GTi) and the latest 2.0D with 168bhp standard....

Personally, I have not seen a final picture, but there are rumours of cars currently undergoing testing and that the launch in Europe is September. Even Skoda UK cannot tell me exactly what the launch date is here - end of the year is all they can/will confirm.

I have already asked to be one of the first for one and it will be the diesel.... They will tune to 220bhp and 350lb/ft. That is going to be a fine, fine car!!
