Citigo rear bumper is very springy...

Reassuring for your other half I'd imagine. :)

I intend not to crash this time :D

My son, his wife, and young son in a car seat in the back, were struck from behind in similar circumstances in daylight. Like Bossfox he anticipated traffic behaviour ahead and slowed in good time. Observed what was about to happen in his mirror, and gave warning to his wife. They were very lucky and escaped with only minor injuries, whiplash and the like, as there was a good deal of damage to the cars. My son is a rapid response driver as part of his function in the Metropolitan Police and observed that the driver had a mobile phone to her ear, which didn't help her already poor case.

Glad your OK Richard. The Citigo took the wallop surprisingly well! I had previously pressed my rear bumper and thought "that won't take any sort of ill treatment" - I was wrong!

Looks like the car is pretty tough, and that's a relief for us all!
