Passed for another year :-)

Featured Replies

Just been for an MOT. Passed with low emissions, with the only advisory being a worn track rod end. Treated the old girl to a tank of Tesco's finest and a bottle of screenwash. :D

As for the track rod end, what are people's thoughts on brand? I can get either TRW, Febi, Lemforder or Q-Drive (Sh*te from what I've heard). The dealer wants 30 quid inc VAT, so not an option when everyone else is charging less than 20.

I know TRW are an OEM supplier because the droplinks I bought from the dealer have TRW stamped on them.

good work my 139,000 miler got advised on 1 x wishbone front bush :) lemforder tie rods and ends on mine the trw ones i fitted last 6 months and about 4000 miles if that :(

Yeah, might go for the lemforder ones then. Car's only got 63k on the clock, but it is almost 11 years old lol.

ZF (Lemforder) are the OEM.

I bought a pair of droplinks from GSF last month and they were TRW. Seemed good quality and much better than the cheap tat ones I bought off GSF a few years back.

Mine passed last month too and I got an advisory for slight play in inner track rod joint. Not bad for 140k and 10.5yrs.

cheap brand gsf stuff really is shocking

Got the lemforder ones in the end. A bit shorter than the old ones, but it seems to drive OK. Cant believe how fecked the old one was. :-o

I've been far from impressed with Febi in the past (and Meyle), but that's about all I have to add...

Yeah, as of yeserday, I am unimpressed with Febi too. The Febi Wishbone bushes I fitted just over a year ago have disintegrated already. They were the Audi TT solid ones too.
