CR vRS Re-Map Stage 1 (with Shark)

Featured Replies

Evening all,

I have booked in my car for some Shark love next Thursday & I'm quite excitied now it's all booked up.

The huge plus side is I'm travelling up from Southampton so although i've got an early start & a long drive there I've also got the pleasure of a 3-4 hour drive home to appreciate the map!:giggle:

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the journey feels with the extra torque. Thought i'd share this with you, it's my xmas presssie to myself. Good times to be had me thinks.......

The Insurance was only an additional £70 so can't grumble.

waiting for more reaction results. Mark

Don't forget to obtain a copy of the rolling road output and post it for us to have a look at and let us know what your trip home was like..... Big grins...

Be interested to see what you thnk I've looked a few times at mapping the mrs vrs cr but it still has warranty and I don't want to void it. I reckon mapped and a LSD fitted the car would be bloody good

be interesting if you get more mpg as the engine should be smoother,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

that is once the elephants foot has worn off abit :giggle:

Very interested in the outcome! Keep us posted... Please.

Oh and just out of interest, which insurer?

I had to bail mid week due to my house move being brought forward & cocking up my finances for this month. It's now down to be done Mid-Late January. I'll keep you posted once it's done. I'm rather annoyed but these things happen....

I'm with Axa & the other insurer was Admiral, which seems to be a popular insurer for a fair few mapped car on this site.

Finally got around to it. All moved & now got a bit more spare time. I'm going into Shark this Saturday AM & I'm really looking forward to my trek home - Motorway there, A-roads home perhaps? I'll give you my before & after prints & let you know it feels (stunning i'd imagine) . Anyone else there this Saturday? I'd happily chew the fat & have brew with you. :coffee:

Definately interested in your feedback on this. Good luck and enjoy.

Morning all,

I am very happy to say the re-map of my car to stage 1 went well @Shark on Saturday & it's a noticable improvement. The car shifts so much smoother & sweeter in all gears (especially 2-5th). Its has gone from pretty quick to rapid. Put the smile back on my face, it's surprising how you adjust to a cars power, this was perfect timing for me - like having a new car again. :giggle:

I'd reccommend to other CR owners as it does make a difference. Also on the longer journey it is ever so slightly better on the MPG (went from 50.0 to 52.3 floating around 80mph mark). That said it's not why I did it. I did for just more power/torque & a smoother delivery.

Funny that the wife hasn't noticed a thing. I said I was having a bit of work done on the engine to make it smoother & more efficient. She has used it more than me this week & not said a thing  Just goes to show she clearly doesn't go over 2000rpm, as I suspected.

Did they have to take the ecu out mate?

Do you know what bhp the car has now?

Well the rolling road was not running on Saturday, that is one for another day it seems. They said the BHP is 205 & yes the ECU was taken out. took around 2-3 hours from start to finish. Most of that was getting the ECU out & doing their magic on it.

I think I would be quite happy if my wife did not drive above 2000rpm!!!

I had to borrow my mum's C1 on Monday & she dropped me off & followed me home & I lost her on the way home. How I don't really understand how - made me chuckle though.
