Remove horn cover

Featured Replies

How to remove horn cover in centre of steering wheel? Just pop it off?

Need to repir & it comes on intermittently, should this be where to begin?

You need a 5 or 6mm Allen key, if you feel round the back of the wheel there is 2 bolts holding the front on.

Be very careful with the airbag in the process. You don't want an explosion in your face.

That is, if you have airbags. But we don't know that because you don't want to change your car type from "Struggling felicia" to type and year to get relevant answers.

Apologies, updated.

Thanks for the tip on allen keys.

This isn't "for sure", but when you get the horn push off, you'll probably find one of the coils spings that hold the contact rings apart has weakened or broken. (based on similar problems with other makes and models)

I recently had intermittent problems with my horn. Spent ages messing about trying different things. It turned out to be the contacts between the main shaft of the steering column and the copper tracky bit, not sure what they are called but there are 3 or 4 of them which make contact.. soz I'm not explaining it v well, lohg week! The problem was - and maybs try this - hold the horn down and keep it down and spin the wheel, mine only sounded in about 1/3 of the rotation. The actual 'fix' took about 1 min, and about an hour or more of farting about trying to find the problem!

That sounds like a dirty slip ring, yes.
